Day 3 (Africa) Building...Well Sorta!
Posted
Hmmmm.....Day 3!! I'm still like 2 days behind on the my blogging. Hopefully today i'll be all caught up. I just got done with Day 1 of the event. Don't you wish you knew what happened already?? haha You have to wait. All i can tell you is that God moved!! :)
K so (QUESO! haha I'm dumb.....So we were supposed to build ramps all day today, but there were a few MINOR difficulties. Well, there were a bunch....We didn't have the right tools, we didn't have power, the ground was like a cheese grader so it was pretty much impossible to ride on. All we had was a pile of wood. Pretty discouraging considering that the event was 2 days later and we were in a stand still.
(Zac, Vic, John Adventure)So Vic, John, and I decided to take a trip downtown since John hadn't experienced it yet. We flag down a taxi and after a few minutes of explaining that we wanted COFFEE we were on our way. :) We cruised downtown for another Bourbon Coffee experienc.. Yum Yum!!It was crazy cause grips of people rocognized me from the day prior when i was skating and sharing with the people!! It was a cool feelings. The people we're psyched. So we got our coffee fix, i bought some Cadbury Chocolate, and we just wandered the city for a bit. When we were ready to head back i tried and tried to get the boys to ride a motorcycle back but they wouldn't. The BMX'ers were too scared...I was ready for an experience. Bump me off the back, get squished between cars, or do a wheelie the whole way. C'mon guys...Step it up! :)X
(Back to Hotel/Work)I don't really want to write too much about this so i'm gonna post a few videos from the SkateMissions.com.
(End of the Day with Emmanuel) So as soon as we were done for the evening we started walking back and Eman came up to make asking for Uli. He made it very clear that it was important. I was like...dang man, chill!! haha I went and grabbed Uli for Eman. They went and chatted. In the mean time i was upstairs with all the boys just goofing off and talking about the day then **BOOM** the door flys open and in came Uli and Eman. Eman was in tears. Uli shared with us that since Eman had met us on the street and saw us sharing Jesus with the crowd it make him think about his life. Eman is a really good looking clean African man to the eye. On the inside he was homeless, lost his job, lost parents in the genocide, and his big problem was Alcohol. All he had was his brother Justin. Justin was Emans everything. We chatted with Eman for a good hour. By the end of the night we all were praying and crying in joy because Eman gave his life to Jesus and was completely transformed. Praise God! This stuff is no joke guys. The heavens rejoice when even 1 soul is transformed. Its just a reminder as to why i do what i do...I'm not the best speaker in the world. As a matter of a fact..I suck! But I LOVE PEOPLE!! :) My heart breaks for them. So this was an amazing Ender for the day!
Again, so blessed to be here! Keep praying guys...We'll take as many as we can get. Big things happening...Stay tuned!!
Love you guys!!
Zac :)X
